Wynn Resorts Unlimited
As you read our 2024 ESG report, I hope it is clear that our areas of focus and our efforts reflect our pragmatic, real-world approach to empowering our people, deepening our community impact, and advancing our sustainability goals. Historically, we have sought to focus on practical initiatives that positively affect our business, rather than on sustainability trends. 2024 was no different.
We launched Wynn University to grow and develop the skills that make our employees best-in-class. By partnering with institutions such as the University of Nevada Las Vegas and Boston University, we are providing our people with dynamic training opportunities for career and personal development. We created a program, called CLIMB, to develop the skills and careers of our high-potential performers, and our HBCU management training initiative is preparing talent to be among the next generation of Wynn leaders. To further support our people, Wynn Resorts moved to a self-funded health-care plan in the U.S., offering new benefits and savings for employees and their families.
Wynn hit significant milestones in philanthropy and community engagement in 2024. The Wynn Resorts Foundation raised an unprecedented $1.3 million for nonprofit organizations, with the support of more than 3,200 employees who gave their time and energy to the community. Beyond fundraising, Wynn hosted Nonprofit Leadership Retreats for hundreds of community leaders to help them to collaborate and focus their collective impact. Through our ongoing partnership with The Pack Shack, we prepared more than 2 million meals this year for those in need, ensuring families in our local communities have access to healthy nourishment. Wynn Las Vegas partnered with It’s a Penalty to raise awareness and prevent human trafficking during major sporting events in Las Vegas.
Practical initiatives aimed at environmental sustainability remain important to us. In 2024, we invested in a second solar project in Nevada, accelerating progress toward our goal of sourcing 50 percent of energy from renewable sources by 2030. Beginning in 2025, this project will deliver 20 MW of solar power directly to Wynn Las Vegas. In addition, a property-wide program to minimize food waste drove record-breaking waste diversion at Wynn Las Vegas. These programs are measurable steps that benefit our business and the planet.
What I am most proud of is not just what we’ve accomplished, but how we’ve achieved it—through the dedication of our people. Every milestone we reached in 2024 was done the Wynn way, through our employees’ sense of dedication and proprietorship.
